This Is England

This Is England did its deliberate inflammatory job on Sunday: a few hated it, some loved it, most thought it a fascinating and worthy exploration of one of the UK's strange societal phenomena.

The audience ratings came out at 77.02%, don't forget you can tell us what you thought on the film's page.

After France and England, it's the turn of Spain on Sunday with The Night of the Sunflowers; 'A terrific thriller and a complex and intelligent piece of filmmaking' according to Sight & Sound.

Molière

What a fine start to the season last Sunday - we weren't sure that a period drama in a foreign language would attract people in large numbers, but Molière must have had a reputation for being a good movie.

There appeared to be plenty of chat when the harassed committee caught a glimpse. Sorry if some of us seemed removed from the proceedings - we were! There's always quite a lot to do on the opening night.

The scores: Replies ( attendance 141) 63 Rating 84.52%

This Sunday you can see This Is England; 'A modest, near-flawless gem' according to The New York Times and one of the best films I've see this year.
